Course Description
The ability to visualize a landscape design in 3D is only a few clicks away. SketchUp is one of the leading programs for quick 3D modeling. Now owned by Trimble, SketchUp received a new clean interface and endless graphics options for creating hard copy 3D views and animated walk-throughs. This workshop will be an introductory level class for creating 3D graphics, both printable and animated, for landscape architecture. Basic computer skills are preferred. This is a hands-on workshop although you are welcome to come and receive the lecture handouts and materials, watch the demo and go through it on your own time. If you plan to follow along, go ahead and download an 8-hour trial version for professional work or a free version for personal projects at www.sketchup.com and bring a laptop, mouse and power cord.
