Course Description
A multifunctional approach to designing intriguing outdoor play environments that facilitate high use and are relevant for all generations and abilities will be presented through examples, concepts, and research. Children's developmental stages, health and psychological motivation will set the stage, as well as the relationship between risk and reward.

Biography
Ken Dobyns has spent the most of his adult life working in recreation and education industries, with a special focus on inclusive play. His relevant experience includes positions as a high school English teacher, a Recreation Coordinator for a disability services provider, an Executive Director of a non-profit promoting inclusive recreation and fitness, and most recently Director and Field Rep for the largest commercial playground manufacturer in the world.

Ken currently serves as National Sales Manager, National Accounts & Distribution Development for Kompan North America.
